During our at-home lactation consultation, I will provide you with personalized support to help you and your baby with breastfeeding. The consultation typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. 
 

1. Health Assessment: I will ask you about your and your baby's health, as well as your current breastfeeding habits and challenges.
    

2. Weighing the Baby: Ideally, I will weigh your baby before breastfeeding. If your baby is hungry before I arrive, please let me know. I might be able to come earlier. If not, that's okay—let your baby feed for a few minutes and then wait for me.
    

3. Breast and Breastfeeding Observation: I will observe how you breastfeed. Together, we'll make any necessary adjustments and try different positions to find at least one that feels comfortable for you. We will also learn how to correctly latch the baby. I also observe to see if there is a wounded nipple or something also that needs my attention. 
    

4. Baby’s Oral Examination: I will check your baby's mouth to assess tongue function and identify any potential issues such as tongue-tie or other factors that might affect feeding. 
    

5. Personalized Support: Depending on your needs, we will cover various topics, such as:

   • How to pump milk correctly+ pumping plan if needed

   • Nighttime solutions to help you get more rest

   • How to use a baby carrier

   • Alternative feeding methods
     and more.
      

6. Ongoing Support: I promise not to leave until all your issue is resolved. After the consultation, I continue to be available for you via WhatsApp and phone if needed.
    

Preparation

• Weighing the Baby: Ideally, I will weigh your baby before breastfeeding. If your baby is hungry before I arrive, please let me know. I might be able to come earlier. If not, that's okay, let your baby feed for a few minutes and then wait for me.
  Try and feed your baby an hour and a half before I arrive, so I can see a full feeing.
